Laboratory Animal
Science Positions
Administrative Support Specialist
New Year Tech, Inc is currently hiring for an Administrative
Support Specialist position. Candidates will be
responsible for answering phones, receiving packages, marinating
organized written and computer files and other administrative
support duties. He/She should have a written and verbal
command of the English language and be able to communicate
effectively and in a professional manner. Applicants
should also have a working knowledge of Microsoft computer
programs such as Outlook, Word, and Excel. He/She should
have the ability to regularly lift, push and pull 25 lbs.
Candidates should have a high school diploma (or equivalent)
and the ability to be trained.
Animal
Facility Specialist
New Year
Tech, Inc is currently hiring for the Animal Facility Specialist
position. Candidates should be able to train and supervise
individuals in animal care and husbandry techniques (i.e.,
identifying monitoring, and recording signs of abnormal animal
health, identifying monitoring, and recording abnormal
environmental parameters for individual species, handling and
restraining animals, monitoring caging and other equipment for
malfunctions, weaning animals, handling mixing and disposing of
chemicals and hazardous waste safely, transferring and
transporting animals (including non human primates) between
cages/rooms, maintaining accurate records and reports of their
animal rooms) and basic cagewash duties (i.e., processing dirty
equipment and cages, operating and maintaining cage equipment
according to SOPs, identifying broken, or malfunctioning caging
equipment, and reporting/documenting these malfunctions as they
occur). He/She should be comfortable delegating tasks to
subordinate personnel and monitoring the completion of these
tasks. Must be comfortable executing tasks with little of no
supervision. Applicants should have the ability to stand for
long periods of time and be prepared to regularly lift, push and
pull 50 lbs. He/She should have good verbal and written command
of the English language and be able to follow oral and written
direction. A high school diploma (or equivalent), LAT or LATg
certification and/or equivalent experience necessary.
Animal
Technician

position. Candidates should be capable of performing basic
animal care and husbandry techniques including but not limited
to: identifying and recording signs of abnormal animal health,

individual species, handling and restraining animals, monitoring
caging and other equipment for malfunctions, handling chemicals
and hazardous waste safely, and maintaining accurate records and

Aquatic Facility Specialist

Specialist position. Candidates should be capable of performing
basic animal care and husbandry techniques to aquatic species
(i.e., fish, sea urchins, frogs, or other semi- aquatic species)
including but not limited to: maintaining housing systems and
aquatic support equipment, identifying and reports signs of
abnormal health or behavior to the Clinical Veterinarian,
identifying and recording abnormal environmental parameters
handling and restraining animals for minor procedures, applies
aquatic terminology in all methods of communication, and
maintaining accurate records and reports for their animal
rooms. Applicants should have the ability to stand for long
periods of time and be prepared to regularly lift, push and pull
50 lbs. He/She should have good verbal and written command of
the English language and be able to follow oral and written
direction. Candidates should have a high school diploma (or
equivalent), a level of AALAS certification, and a minimum of
one year working with aquatic species. Subject matter experts
in aquatics husbandry and system maintenance preferred.
Cagewash Foreman

Tech, Inc is currently hiring for the Cagewash Foreman
position. Candidates should be capable of training and
supervising individuals in basic cagewash duties , including but
not limited to: processing dirty equipment and cages, operating
and maintaining cage equipment according to SOPs, identifying
broken, or malfunctioning caging equipment, and
reporting/documenting these malfunctions as they occur. He/She
will also be responsible for recognizing and minimizing risks
associated with biohazardous, radiological and chemical waste,
performing preventative maintenance on cagewash and autoclave
equipment, ensuring proper sanitation of equipment and area, and
collecting documentation of sample collection, pH, temperature
and other cagewash monitoring records. Applicants should have
the ability to stand for long periods of time, be prepared to
regularly lift, push and pull 50 lbs and withstand various
adverse environmental conditions. He/She should have good
verbal and written command of the English language, experience
with computer programs such as Microsoft Word, Outlook, and
Excel, and be able to complete tasks independently. Candidates

Cagewash Technician

Facility Support Technician

Technician position. Candidates should be capable of performing
basic support duties, including but not limited to: collecting,
transporting, and disposing of waste, maintaining receipt and
delivery logs, sterilizing caging, MPW waste, feed, water, and
bedding, , and reporting/documenting equipment malfunctions as
they occur. He/She will also be responsible for performing
preventative maintenance on building dumpsters, cagewash and
autoclave equipment, conducting sample collection and
documenting pH, temperatures, and autoclave efficacy.

Project Manager

Tech, Inc is currently hiring for the Project Manager position.
Candidates will be responsible for providing direction to 25 to
40 contract employees to support multiple task orders. He/She
should be knowledgeable in all aspects of an animal facility
(facility maintenance operations and typical species behavior),
be able to evaluate the needs of the facility, designate plans
of action, and determine the proficiency of the cagewash, animal
care, and support staff. A knowledge and skill in multiple
species is required. He/She should be comfortable assisting
Investigators with protocol requirements and husbandry
considerations. Applicants should have a good verbal and
written command of the English language and strong computer
skills with Microsoft programs such as Word, Excel, and
Outlook. LATg AALAS certification and 2-4 years of
supervisory/management experience required. A BS degree in
biology or similar field and ILAM or CAMR certification is
preferred.
Research Specialist

Tech, Inc is currently hiring for the Research Specialist
position. Candidates should have basic skills and knowledge of
laboratory procedures, good veterinary technical skills, and
computer and biological function to perform most aspects of the
position, including operating basic laboratory equipment and
machines. He/She should also have excellent organizational
skills to maintain various records, forms and data sheets, and
consistently demonstrate attention to detail. Good verbal and
written command of the English language, effectively
communicating using proper grammar, and following oral and
written direction is required. Computer proficiency in
Microsoft programs such as Word, Excel, and Outlook is
necessary. Candidates should have 3+ years in an animal research
environment, a BS in biology, animal science, or similar
discipline or an AA in Veterinary Technology. Candidates with
additional experience or education will be compensated.
Trainer

Tech, Inc is currently hiring for a Trainer position.
Candidates will be responsible for training 3 or less labor
categories. He/She should have excellent organizational and
interpersonal skills and be able to effectively communicate,
mentor, tutor and motivate staff. Additionally, he/she will
prepare lesson plans to train against SOPs, and maintain
accurate documents, records, and paper, training files.
Candidates should have a written and verbal command of the
English language and be able to communicate effectively and in a

Access, PowerPoint, and Excel. . He/She should also have a
minimum of 3 years working in an animal research environment, a

Veterinary Technician

Tech, Inc is currently hiring for the Veterinary Technician
position. Candidates should be capable of performing basic
veterinary care responsibilities including but not limited to:
administering drugs (IV,IM SQ, IP, ID, and PO), collecting
physiological data (heart rate, body temperature), calculating
doses, identifying and communicating signs of abnormal health,
and safely and correctly handling and restraining animals for
observation or minor procedures. He/She will also be
responsible for maintaining clinical records and communicating
with the Clinical Veterinarian on a regular basis. Applicants
should have the ability to use computer programs to manage data
and work independently. He/She should have good verbal and
written command of the English language and be able to follow
oral and written direction. Candidates should have an AA in
Veterinary Technology or LAT certification, and experience
working with animals in a companion animal setting (biomedical
research preferred) and be eligible to take the LATg exam.
